Penelope Duckworth was ordained a priest in 1983 through the Diocese of
El Camino Real and has served chaplaincies and parish churches in the
Diocese of California and El Camino Real. She served seventeen years as
Episcopal Chaplain to Stanford.
She comes to St. Luke's having recently taught in the
Departments of English, Religious Studies, and Theater and Dance at
Santa Clara University, and served as Artist-in-Residence at
She is the author of three
books in the field of religion, a book of poems, several letterpress
chapbooks of poetry, and an award-winning play on the Rehabilitation
Trial of Joan of Arc.
Nayan McNeill is a retired Dean of the Language Arts Division and professor of literature and linguistics at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills. She holds a B.A. and M.A. in English and a PhD in Educational Philosophy, all from the University of California, Berkeley. She has been a member of St. Luke's since 1961, and has served as a Lay Reader, Acolyte, and twice as Senior Warden. Under the guidance of Bishop Richard Shimpfky, she read for Holy Orders, and was ordained to the priesthood in 2002. Nayan serves as a Clergy Associate at St. Luke's and occasionally as a supply priest at several other parishes and missions in the Diocese of El Camino Real. She is also Chaplain to the clients of St. Luke's Outreach Program.
Mother Mary Morrison is a native Californian, born and raised in Sacramento. She attended the University of California at Davis (BA, History), earned an elementary teaching credential, and taught for 25 years. For most of those years, she also served Presbyterian, Roman Catholic, and Episcopal parishes as an organist. She attended the Church Divinity School of the Pacific and was ordained in 2000. After working at the seminary for two years as the Program Director for the Center for Anglican Leadership and Life, she came to Saint Luke's as a Pastoral Associate. She was called as Rector to St. James' Episcopal Church in Paso Robles in 2008 and served there until 2014.
