5pm: Summer Book Club—Everything Belongs

Our genre for August’s pick is “spiritual writing or memoir,” and we’re going with a contemporary classic from 1999. Join the OXymorons Book Club Tuesday, August 10, 5:00–6:30 p.m. for a spirited discussion — most likely on Zoom — of Everything Belongs: The Gift of Contemplative Prayer, by Richard Rohr.
From Amazon: “This popular and bestselling book challenges people to move beyond the comfort of a settled life toward an understanding of themselves that is rooted in their connection to God. Only when they rest in God can they find the certainty and the freedom to become all that they can be. Contemplation has its place at the heart of Christianity, a place that allows people to experience how ‘everything belongs.’”
Richard Rohr, OFM, is a Franciscan friar based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and the founder of the Center for Action and Contemplation. An internationally recognized author and spiritual leader, Fr. Rohr teaches primarily on incarnational mysticism, nondual consciousness, and contemplation, with a particular emphasis on how these affect the social justice issues of our time.
