6:30pm: A Pilgrimage with Race
Beginning Thursday, September 9, at 6:30 p.m., our parish will embark on a new diocesan series, “A Pilgrimage with Race.” On the second Thursday of each month, via Zoom, we will watch a video together, discuss its content, and consider the question of race in our own lives. The videos consist of interviews with members of our diocese, some of whom you will recognize. They will share their journey and tell us how they navigated through their own experience of growing up as a person of color, or within a community of color. All are welcome to join us!
The series’ premise is that we can really only come to know one another by sharing our stories. As such, our discussions will be autobiographically centered, which is perhaps the gentlest way to look at the subject of race and racism in our country. You can view the entire curriculum HERE. There are currently eight videos in the series, with four more to come in future months. The videos vary in length, 16–27 minutes, and we will watch them together, in their entirety, prior to each evening’s discussion. Hope to see you there!
For those who wish to join the Zoom link early, we will offer Evening Prayer at 6:00 p.m., prior to our program.
