Sacred Heart Volunteer Event

Come help feed those in need by bagging groceries at Sacred Heart next Monday, June 30 from 2:30–4:30.

This opportunity is brought to you by our Outreach Committee, led by Loren Schlesinger. The Committee is offering a variety of service opportunities for the coming months that anyone in the parish is invited to support by showing up and pitching in.

For June, Fr. Bill and Barbara are spearheading this chance to volunteer at Sacred Heart Community Service. Sacred Heart offers groceries, clothing, and other resources to many hundreds of poor and underserved people in Santa Clara County. It is located on 1381 South First Street in San Jose. To register as a volunteer, go to the Sacred Heart webpage, sacredheartcs.org, to start a short process. Volunteers sort groceries (and perform other services). They need volunteers on June 30 from 2:30–4:30, which is when Fr. Bill and Barbara will be there.

In the future, we hope to add opportunities at the Episcopal outreach agency in San Jose, Santa Maria Urban Ministries, which St. Luke’s supports.
