The Feast of the Presentation of Our Lord in the Temple, also known as Candlemas, is Sunday, February 2. This is one of very few Feast Days that’s allowed to “take over” the usual readings and theme for that Sunday, and we will do so at St. Luke’s for our usual Saturday & Sunday services, 1–2 February.
Candlemas at St. Luke’s has a distinctive, meditative feel. In addition to blessing the church’s candles for the year, we will light individual “candles of intention” for 2025, praying for God’s guidance and naming aloud our hopes for the coming year. Those who attend online can also participate by typing their intention for 2025 into the YouTubecomments. We will name your intention aloud and light a candle for you, as well. Do join us!
